A teenager was arrested for a burglary at a gun store called Two Gun Tactical in Ridgeland.
On Thursday, May 1, at 3:18 a.m., Ridgeland officers responded to Two Gun Tactical, 287 Highway 51, Ridgeland, after receiving notification of a burglary alarm activation.
According to the Ridgleand Police Department, officers arrived within one minute and saw a shattered window where the suspect likely entered the business.
Due to the possibility of a barricaded suspect in a business holding firearms and ammunition extra precaution was taken to make sure officers were safe.
Ridgeland PD’s Special Response Team was called and the Madison Police Department sent out a drone operator to be sure the area was safe and secure.
Video surveillance of the business was reviewed and police said that a lone burglar entered the business, took two firearms from a display case, then quickly exited through the broken window.
The Ridgeland Police Department processed the scene and an investigation was launched.
This led to the arrest of 17-year-old Thomas Schaffer, Jr. Police also recovered two stolen firearms.

Schaffer has been charged as an adult with one count of Burglary of a Commercial Building and two counts of Possession of a Stolen Weapon. Schaffer’s bond has been set at $200,000.00 and he will be held at the Madison County Detention Center.
The Madison Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms helped with the investigation.
