A four-legged friend brought smiles and love to Ridgeland Place last week during National Pet Week.
Trixie, a therapy dog in training with Alliance Pet Therapy, took center stage in a delightful pet fashion show that left tails wagging and residents cheering. The event, held in honor of National Pet Week (May 4–10), featured three stylish outfits modeled by Trixie — including a Chanel #5-inspired jacket and beret, a crochet dress with matching hat, and a whimsical “bon appétit” bandana and chef’s hat.
Residents of the senior living community served as judges, ultimately crowning the colorful crochet dress as Trixie’s “Sunday Best.” The fashion show ended on a sweet note as Trixie received a treat for her efforts and charm.
“This event offered a lighthearted opportunity for residents to come together and enjoy some fun,” said Michael Ryan, Executive Director of Ridgeland Place. “Trixie’s visits always bring something different, and this fashion show was another way to connect and engage everyone.”
National Pet Week, established by the American Veterinary Medical Association, celebrates the companionship of pets and highlights the importance of responsible pet care.
Ridgeland Place regularly incorporates pet therapy into its programming. They talked about the joy and emotional support that animals bring to their seniors.
