A man wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Alabama was arrested in Amory on Friday, May 2, thanks to coordinated efforts between the Amory Police Department and the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Amory Police Department, they were notified of the robbery in Sulligent, Alabama, and informed that the suspect may have fled to the Amory area. Lamar County investigators provided information that led Amory officers to a residence on 5th Avenue South Extended.
There, officers located and arrested the suspect, identified as Rahmean Williams. Authorities say evidence was also recovered at the scene to aid the ongoing investigation by Lamar County officials.
Williams was taken into custody and held in Amory until his extradition back to Alabama.
“This is another strong example of law enforcement agencies working together to keep our communities safe,” said a statement from the Amory Police Department.
The investigation into the bank robbery remains ongoing.
