On April 21, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit, in coordination with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, executed a search warrant at a home in Summit, leading to the arrest of two individuals and the discovery of illegal drugs and a firearm.
The operation was initiated as part of an ongoing investigation into Curtis Floyd, a resident of the home. Deputies and agents had developed probable cause to request a search warrant for the residence, which was granted. Upon arrival, law enforcement made contact with Floyd as well as Tyesha Martin, who was also present at the scene.
During the search, authorities recovered a pistol with the serial number removed, along with a bag containing multiple controlled substances. These included approximately 23.1 grams of powder cocaine, 0.5 grams of crack cocaine, 4.6 grams of methamphetamine, and 20 hydrocodone pills.

Both Floyd and Martin were taken into custody and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance enhanced with a firearm. Floyd, who was already out on bond from a previous arrest on indictment, now faces an additional charge of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
The investigation remains ongoing. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones urges the public to report any suspicious activity to local authorities as efforts to combat illegal drug distribution continue throughout Pike County.
