Gluckstadt police made an arrest after an early morning high speed chase.
A stolen vehicle from Georgia led the Gluckstadt Police Department on a short chase around 1:45 this morning.
The chase ended when the car crashed near the 109 mile marker. The suspect was later seen near the Fleetway Service Station in Gluckstadt and, after running into a wooded area behind the Sonic, was located a short time later.
He has been identified as Nigel Keshune Wilcox, taken into custody without incident, and transported to the Madison County Detention Center.
Wilcox is now facing charges of Felony Eluding a Police Officer, Receiving Stolen Property, and Reckless Driving, with an initial court appearance scheduled for tomorrow at Gluckstadt Municipal Court.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Madison Police Department, and Canton Police Department all assisted with the chase and arrest.
