On Wednesday, April 9, the Sumrall Police Department arrested two individuals in connection with a shoplifting incident at Ace Hardware.
Larry Todd Bass and Hope Hooten—also known as Hope Bass—were taken into custody after allegedly stealing from the store. Both were booked and later released on bond.
Authorities say the arrests were made possible thanks to valuable tips and cooperation from the public.
“These arrests would not have been possible without the continued support and information shared by our community,” the department said in a press release.
The Sumrall Police Department thanked the public and encouraged residents to stay vigilant and continue reporting suspicious activity to help keep the community safe.
