On March 26, the Greenville Fire Department (GFD) was dispatched to a reported rubbish fire behind a home in the area of Crescent Street.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed large rolling flames deep in the rear of the Crescent Street area. As the situation unfolded, crews from Engine 4 and Rescue 7 quickly stretched and connected several hand lines to reach the source of the fire.
Upon closer inspection, firefighters discovered that what was initially reported as a rubbish fire was actually a structure fire located in the middle of the wooded area behind the homes.
Crews worked to soak the surrounding area and ensure the flames were fully extinguished to prevent any further spread.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Greenville Fire Department commended the quick response and teamwork of all involved crews, which helped prevent the situation from escalating further.
