Volunteers with Cheshire Abbey Animal Rescue responded to a call about the puppies’ condition and were able to safely rescue five of them. However, in the short window of time it took the team to create a rescue plan, one puppy disappeared.

“We didn’t miss the puppy, the mom didn’t move it, and nothing ate it,” the rescue group said in a public plea. “It was ripped away from its siblings.”

The group is concerned for the safety of the missing pup, especially considering the dire condition of the others. Volunteers described the puppies as extremely weak, malnourished, and suffering from heavy parasite loads.

The rescue is now asking for help from the public—not only in locating the missing puppy but also in raising funds to care for the five that were rescued. Donations will help cover vaccinations, deworming treatments, food, and boarding costs.

Anyone with information about the missing puppy or wishing to support the rescue effort can donate through:

  • PayPal: [email protected]

  • Venmo: @CheshireAbbey

  • Florence Animal Clinic: 601-845-3610 (accepting donations directly)

“We can’t do any of this without our community,” the group added. “You’re the reason we’re able to save lives.”

Cheshire Abbey plans to share updates on the rescued pups and continues to urge anyone with information about the sixth puppy to come forward.
