A Tupelo man is facing robbery charges following an incident at Holy Smoke and Vape Shop on North Gloster Street.

On March 22 officers with the Tupelo Police Department responded to the store after receiving reports of a robbery. According to the victim, the suspect approached the register and requested to purchase merchandise kept behind the counter. As the employee began preparing the items, the suspect reached for the merchandise, prompting the employee to pull them away. At that point, the suspect reportedly said, “Give me everything you have, this is a robbery,” before fleeing the scene.

Tupelo Police quickly located and took the suspect into custody approximately one hour later.

Following further investigation, 44-year-old Beau C. Mallory of Tupelo was formally charged with robbery on March 24. That same day, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir set Mallory’s bond at $40,000.

This case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
