(JACKSON, Miss.) JSU Votes is hosting two “Meet the Candidates” informational events before primary elections on April 1. JSU Votes is a non-partisan student organization at Jackson State University that aims to reduce voter apathy and encourage civic engagement.
These events will inform JSU students and registered voters in Jackson about the candidates while providing leadership development for the members of JSU Votes.
The first event, held on Tuesday, March 25, allows Jackson City Council candidates to share their campaign platforms. On Thursday, March 27, a second event will be held for Jackson mayoral candidates.
JSU Votes is partnering with the League of Women Voters of the Jackson Area and the Jackson (MS) Alumnae and Delta Pi Chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Please see the details for the two “Meet the Candidates” events below: Event Flyers are attached.
