A kitchen employee at the Pearl River County Jail has been arrested after a weeks-long investigation uncovered an alleged contraband smuggling operation involving trustee inmates.
The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division identified the employee as 56-year-old Stacey Sistrunk, of Slidell, LA, who is accused of bringing in contraband and distributing it to inmate workers. Investigators also identified 45-year-old Talafarrow Keyes Sr., of Gulfport, MS, as an inmate involved in the operation.

On March 8, early Saturday morning, investigators executed arrest warrants for both Sistrunk and Keyes, taking them into custody without incident. A search of the jail’s kitchen also led to the discovery of additional contraband items in possession of two other inmates, Kewane Latiker, 31, of Jackson, MS, and Jeremy King, 33, of Biloxi, MS.

Sistrunk was booked into the Pearl River County Criminal Justice Facility as an inmate. The three trustee inmates involved were removed from their trustee status and transported back to the state prison system. Additional arrest warrants were issued for Latiker and King.
Sheriff David Allison emphasized that contraband smuggling will not be tolerated at the facility.
“Each time we receive information about this type of behavior, it will be investigated,”
Allison said, commending the Narcotics Division for their hard work and dedication in closing the case.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may follow.
