The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian that occurred early Sunday morning on Highway 11.
At approximately 3:45 a.m. on March 9, 2025, a 2008 Toyota Corolla, driven by 77-year-old Marion Johnson of Picayune, MS, was traveling northbound on Highway 11 when it collided with 35-year-old Joshua Luke of Carrier, MS, who was walking in the southbound lane.
Luke was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances of the crash, and the Mississippi Highway Patrol has confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing.
