Timothy Boshart’s mother, Robbie Fairley, has kept his legacy alive in the almost 7 1/2 years since he disappeared in 2017, running a Facebook page, holding balloon releases yearly, and even continuing to spearhead physical searches years after he was gone.
A few weeks before his disappearance, Boshart told Fairley he was afraid something was going to happen to him. His father had died a year before, and he said he was on his mind in a big way. Fairley said she honestly believed it when she told Boshart he would be fine.
And he was, until he wasn’t.
On his last known day, Boshart was last seen on September 3, 2017, on WPA Road in Purvis. He was attending a recovery center in Laurel, but left there with a friend after a church service at Highland Baptist Church. He was then dropped off at a home on Zeb Circle in Purvis, picked up by someone else from that home, and taken to another place on Lewallen Drive in Purvis.
Boshart had fought an addiction that began when he was prescribed pain killers for an injury. Questions were raised as to whether that may have had something to do with either his disappearance or what seemed to be relative media silence and a seemingly sluggish response from law enforcement.

He had given a friend in recovery a baseball with the words, “Against all odds” written on it, and his signature on the other side. “I’m going to write a book about my recovery and call it ‘Against All Odds,'” he told the friend. “You will have my signature when I become famous.”
He became famous in a way, for all the wrong reasons.
The home on Lewallen Drive is the last known physical location Boshart was seen. His actions from there are unknown.
According to the Facebook page dedicated to finding Tim, he had gotten his birth certificate from his mother a few weeks before he went missing for a job application, and it was found in the yard of the home on Lewallen Drive.
“Anybody that has any information as to what happened or where Tim is, please just let us know,” Fairley said to WDAM-TV in 2022. “We really don’t even care anymore about the answers – the who, what, where, when, why. We just want to know where Tim is, a location, and we have even asked anonymously. Please just send me a letter anonymously that says, ‘This is where you can find your son,’ so that we can have closure.”
According to the Facebook page, Fairley has repeatedly heard something her son may have been killed by people who knew him. So far, aside from a mother’s intuition and his disappearance into thin air, no solid evidence has been found to suggest he was a victim of foul play.
There’s a balloon release yearly, a tribute to the son that seemingly evaporated, and hopefully a stark reminder to anyone who may know where he is.
Boshart’s case remains unsolved at this time. If you know where Tim Boshart is or what happened to him, call Robbie Fairley at 601-674-2643 or the Jones County Sheriff’s Department at (601)794-1005.
