Terry man arrested on sexual battery charges

Michael Todd Bridges

A Terry man was arrested Monday on charges of sexual assault.

Authorities say investigators with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department arrested Michael Todd Bridges on Monday for the alleged sexual battery of a female.

The investigation began in late 2024 when the allegations were first reported to the sheriff’s office. Investigators were recently able to obtain further evidence which subsequently led to them obtaining an arrest warrant for Bridges.

Bridges was arrested without incident and transported to the Rankin County Detention Center where he remains on a $100,000 bond.

Although Bridges has been arrested, the investigation is still on-going.

Bridges’ LinkedIn account shows that he volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America in various capacities from 2008-2020, being awarded a District Award of Merit in 2014. He was added immediately after he left the Boy Scouts to the ineligible volunteer list, which blocks him from ever volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America ever again.

Boy Scouts officials say the accusations are absolutely unrelated to Bridges’ former roles in Scouting.
