In D’berville, one police officer’s simple act of kindness changed a young man’s life.
A simple act of kindness has made a world of difference for one local man, thanks to the generosity and compassion of D’lberville Officer Emily Chapman.
Officer Chapman saw a need and decided to do something about it.
Recently, Officer Chapman responded to an accident involving a bicyclist and a motor vehicle. Fortunately, the young man was unharmed, but his bicycle—his only means of transportation to work—was completely destroyed.
After making sure the scene was clear, Officer Chapman personally giving the man a ride home. During their conversation, she learned that the bike was vital to the young man’s daily life.
Determined to help, she didn’t stop at offering words of encouragement. Instead, she took action. With the support of the community, Officer Chapman was able to secure a replacement bicycle, ensuring the man could continue getting to work without hardship.
Officer Chapman could have just responded to the wreck and stopped at that…but she chose to go the extra mile and make a huge difference for someone else.
