An alleged car thief may be in for a little bit of a Snapchat surprise when they pick up their phone and other items from the Yazoo City Police Department.
YPD posted on their Facebook Monday morning that they had received a report of a stolen vehicle on Saturday. An officer tried to stop the vehicle, but it lost control and hit a chain-link fence.
“Thanks to solid police work and diligent patrol, the vehicle was located that same night,” the department’s post said.
Both the driver and the passenger fled on foot. YPD left a special message for the passenger.
“To the passenger: You left a few items behind. We have completed collecting DNA evidence from one croc. You may come to the police department and retrieve your shoe and cell phone,” they posted. “Also, don’t worry about your snap streaks; we kept them going for you with pictures of all your favorite police officers.”
