On November 6, the Oxford Police Department responded to an apartment complex following a report of fraudulent activity involving using false identification to obtain goods.
Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the complex’s leasing officer, who reported receiving an invoice for charges that the apartment complex had not authorized. The leasing officer indicated that the charges appeared to have been made by someone posing as an employee.
After an investigation, the officer determined that a suspect had fraudulently ordered products and instructed the business to bill the purchases to the apartment complex’s account. The individual, claiming to represent the complex, had used a false identity to make the unauthorized transactions.
On November 13, 33-year-old Kiree Wilson of Oxford voluntarily turned himself in to the Oxford Police Department. Wilson is now facing charges of False Identification and Fraudulently Obtaining Goods.
Wilson’s bond will be set by a Municipal Court Judge.
