A Moss Point man is behind bars after a body was found in a wooded area off Baywood Drive in Moss Point.
Police said in a release Thursday that the body of Spencer Watson, 28, of Pascagoula, was discovered Wednesday around 11 a.m. His death is being investigated as a homicide.
The investigation began after Watson’s family reported him missing to the Pascagoula Police Department on Wednesday morning. PPD contacted MPPD, who had a report of gunshots in the area of Baywood Drive and River Pine Road on Monday.
Detectives began to put leads from both cases together and uncovered information that led to Watson’s discovery.
Johnny William Anderson, 22, has been arrested and charged with murder. He’s been booked into the Jackson County Adult Detention Center and is awaiting an initial appearance. Bond has not yet been set.
This case is under active investigation by the Moss Point Police Department, according to the release. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
