According to WLOX, Moss Point Police Chief Brandon Ashley said that a man was killed after what police believe was an attempted home invasion.

The incident happened late Thursday night on Ruby Street around 11:45 p.m.

28-year-old Kevin Harvey was killed.

WLOX reports that Chief Ashley said investigators believe the incident started as an attempted home invasion. When the suspects weren’t able to get the door open, they began firing a rifle through the door. The bullets hit Harvey several times.

Chief Ashley told WLOX that he believes this was an isolated incident and that Harvey and his home were targeted.

The only information that police have on the suspects is that there were two or three people possibly wearing some kind of covering on their face.
