Mississippi Attorney Daniel Sidney Dale was arrested today and charged with two counts of conspiracy and three counts of introducing contraband to a correctional facility.
Dale allegedly posed as legal counsel for Hinds County detainees and smuggled cell phones and other contraband during visitations.
During a visitation this afternoon, Dale was found in possession of several items of contraband and cell phones intended for a detainee. He was detained, questioned, and subsequently charged.
In his trusted position, Dale’s actions compromised the safety and integrity of the Hinds County Detention Facilities and the public. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges or arrests may follow.
