A Meridian Police Department Lieutenant has been arrested for Statutory Rape- Victim under 14 years old.

On Thursday, May 16, a complaint was filed with the Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services in reference to a 12-year-old girl being molested by Meridian Police Department Lieutenant Kevin Micael Boyd.

During the investigation, enough evidence was found to charge Boyd with Rape-Statutory (Victim Under 14 YOA).

Tuesday, August 6, after the arrest warrant was signed by a judge, Sheriff Moore contacted the Meridian Police Department.

Arrangements were made to have Boyd brought to the sheriff’s department in DeKalb by the police department and for Boyd to turn himself in.

Boyd’s initial appearance is today at the Kemper County courthouse.
