The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting that involved the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department that happened August 30.

According to MBI, the shooting happened at a home on Clark Avenue in DeSoto County.

MBI received notification at approximately 6:40 a.m. of this critical incident.

They said that officers with the SWAT Team were attempting to execute an arrest warrant at the residence when the person pointed a weapon in the direction of the officers.

The involved subject received fatal injuries.

Officers involved in the incident were not seriously injured.

MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence.

Upon completing the investigation, agents will share their findings with the Attorney General’s Office.
