Jackson police are investigating after someone fired shots at a vehicle parked in front of the Waffle House on Highway 18.

A 20-year-old man was sitting in a vehicle and was shot in both legs as he napped while waiting on his food. He was taken by ambulance to the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he is listed as stable, though it is unclear in what condition.

The Waffle House was also shot into, but the two employees inside were not injured. Police say there is not currently a suspect, but someone will be charged with aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied vehicle, shooting into an occupied dwelling, and drive-by shooting.
