Jackson Police are investigating a shooting that happened at approximately 1 pm Wednesday in the 900 block of Robinson Street.

Police were originally called to the area for a “shots fired “ call.

When officers arrived they discovered a black male who was later identified as 43-year-old Donald Mitchell lying outside the passenger side of a red Ford Edge deceased at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.
