The man accused of killing six people in a shooting spree that included multiple locations in Tate County now faces the possibility of the death penalty.

After consultation with the District Attorney’s Office, Richard Dale Crum has now been charged with one count of Capital Murder for the death of Debra McNally Crum.

This charge is in addition to the one count of First Degree Murder for the death of Chris Eugene Boyce.

Four other people were also killed in the shooting.

Due to security concerns connected with the case, Crum’s initial appearance was held today at the Tate County Jail. The judge ordered Crum held without bond and set Crum’s preliminary hearing for 9:00am Thursday at the Tate County Justice Court.

Any further inquiries are being directed to the District Attorney’s Office for the 17th Circuit Court District of Mississippi.
