Do you have unused, discarded prescription drugs/medications that you need to dispose of?
The Madison Police Department, in conjunction with the DEA’s Drug Take Back Initiative, will be accepting unwanted/outdated prescription medications at their semi-annual Drug Take-Back event in the parking lot of the Madison Justice Complex (corner of Main Street & Crawford Street), from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, April 22nd.
If you can’t make it to the event, the Police Department has in its lobby, in conjunction with CVS Pharmacy, a drug drop box available 24 hours a day.
The police department assured individuals that their privacy is assured in that you may dispose of your unused, outdated medications into our secured disposal box and keep your original container.
Identification is not required to participate in this program.
If you prefer to dispose of the original container with the medication, you should remove the label with your identifying information prior to disposal.
Intravenous solutions, injectables, and syringes will not be accepted due to their hazardous nature
