Sheriff Billy Sollie said in a release Tuesday that one of his deputies is under investigation.
In a release, Sollie said he was contacted Sunday by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation that a case had been opened on a Lauderdale County deputy.
According to Sollie, MBI told him that a local hospital had called them on behalf of a woman who alleged that the inappropriate contact with the deputy had occurred over the weekend.
The investigation is ongoing, Sollie said, and the Attorney General’s office is also involved.
The deputy in question is currently suspended without pay, the sheriff said.
