JPD officers say a man who was found lying in a street with a gunshot wound to his chest was able to give them the name of his shooter.
Officers were called about 2:30 a.m. Thursday to the 4200 block of Chenault Avenue, where they found the victim lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Before being taken to a hospital in an ambulance, the victim identified his assailant as Justin Bell, according to Jackson police public information Officer Sam Brown. Bell was not on the scene.
The victim’s condition was such that he wasn’t able to provide any other details. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
