Jackson police investigating Capitol Street homicide

A 21-year-old man was shot to death in Jackson around lunch time on Monday.

An email from JPD spokesman Sam Brown says that William Tellis was shot multiple times around 11 a.m. at 3104 Capitol Street. He died on scene.

Sam Brown tells us that Gregdrick Brown, 16, admitted to the shooting and turned himself in. He told police the victim had chased him with a broken beer bottle at a local gas station. Brown retrieved a gun from a car and shot Tellis and then tossed the gun back into the vehicle.
