Jackson man arrested for allegedly shooting into Waffle House and Church’s Chicken

A Jackson man was arrested last week on charges in connection with the shootings at two local restaurants.

Jackson police say Tuesday, around 10:19 P.M., Melvin Clincy was arrested on charges of Aggravated Assault and three counts of Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling after police say he shot into the Waffle House on I-55 near Northside Drive and the Church’s Chicken on Medgar Evers Boulevard. Police say he returned to Waffle House and opened fire again after Church’s.

Clincy was arrested in the 4000 block of North State Street.
