An investigation is underway after a Jones County kindergartner was left on a school bus.
According to officials, it happened February 23 at West Jones Elementary.
A student fell asleep on the bus and was left there when the bus parked for the evening.
Jones County School Superintendent Tommy Parker says the regular driver was out and a substitute was filling in but all drivers are instructed to check the buses thoroughly.
Dr. Parker said that the district will revisit protocols and discuss possible disciplinary action for the employee involved.
