A Hattiesburg man is now in custody after leading Forrest County deputies on two pursuits in 12 hours.
Tyler Chance, 26, originally eluded deputies after refusing to stop at a safety checkpoint on Elks Lake Road. He then bailed on foot and had been at large until he was spotted on Browns Bridge Road this morning.
Chance then again fled on foot at the sight of a patrol car. Thanks to community assistance, Chance was later apprehended near Elks Lake Lodge where he attempted to flee a third time.
In addition, Chance is believed to have allegedly stole a game camera near the area where he was apprehended. If you have a missing game camera that you can describe please contact the FCSO.
Chance has a felony warrant for child abuse stemming from a previous encounter eluding law enforcement, as well as new charges from his actions today including resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, eluding law enforcement, and petit larceny. He is now in custody at the Forrest County Adult Detention Center.
