On Friday, December 23, around 2:50 pm, officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to the 600 block of McCorkle Circle in reference to a shooting in the area.
When officers arrived at the location, they made contact with a 19-year-old female and 20-year-old victim who stated that while walking to a relative’s house, a car occupied by several males shot at them.
One of the males in the car was identified as 18-year-old Kimani Barnes, Jr.
Barnes, who has recently bonded out on a prior felony offense was taken into custody on December 29th without incident.
He is currently being charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and is being held in the Washington County Correctional Facility awaiting his initial appearance.
Barnes is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
