Governor Tate Reeves today announced that he has appointed Mr. William “Adam” Hopper of Grenada as District Attorney for the 5th Circuit Court District to serve beginning August 15, 2023.
“Adam Hopper has a distinguished record as a prosecutor and an impressive legal career,” said Governor Reeves. “I have complete confidence that he will bring the highest degree of integrity and professionalism to this position and wish him all the best in this new role.”
Mr. Hopper will serve the unexpired balance of the current term following the vacancy due to the resignation of Mr. Doug Evans.
Since July 2006, Mr. Hopper has served as an Assistant District Attorney for the 5th Circuit District located in Grenada. There, he was responsible for prosecuting felony cases, conducting grand juries, and handling jury trials.
Mr. Hopper earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law, his M.B.A. from Troy University, and his B.S. from Troy University.
