The law enforcement community is pulling together to help raise money for Flowood Police Chief Ricky McMillian, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer.
“Most know him as a Chief of Police for the City of Flowood,” reads a flyer circulating social media. “All know him as a follower of Christ, husband to Donna, father of two, grandfather to one, and friend to a countless number of people. Ricky has been a servant to the public for most of his life, giving over 30 years to law enforcement.”
The flyer states that McMillian’s cancer is Stage 4.
A silent auction will be held on June 8 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Missy Sippy Rooftop Bar at the Sheraton in Flowood.
He “has a hard battle ahead of him,” the flyer reads. “His faith is strong, as well as his support from family and friends.”
Funds raised will go to help McMillian and his family with medical expenses.
