On Thursday, April 28, 2022, a multi-agency, federal, state, and local law enforcement operation resulted in the arrest of two individuals on felony drug and weapon charges.
A Forrest County deputy on the Task Force worked to develop and assist in executing a search warrant that was served by members of the DEA High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force, the 12th Judicial District Narcotics Enforcement Team (12th NET/ METRO Narcotics), the Hattiesburg Police Department Special Operations and Star Team, a Forrest County K-9 unit, the Forrest and Lamar County Sheriff’s Offices, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, and the Columbia Police Department.
Two individuals were arrested at a home in the 300 block of North Washington Avenue after serving a search warrant.
The operation also resulted in the seizure of a quarter pound of cocaine, several pounds of marijuana, four firearms with ammunition, and over $1,600 in cash.
Garrick White, 46, of Hattiesburg, was arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Janice Jackson, 44, of Hattiesburg, was arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance.
Both individuals have been booked into the Forrest County Jail, and the investigation remains ongoing.
