The Forrest County Adult Detention Center is celebrating the graduation of five individuals who have completed a certification program aimed at helping them find employment in the food industry after their release.
The program, overseen by IN2WORK, provides inmates the opportunity to earn a Manager’s ServSafe Certificate from the National Restaurant Association.
This certification gives them with the skills and qualifications needed to secure jobs in restaurants or even start their own businesses once they re-enter the community.
Food Service Director Geraldine Cooper praised the graduates, stating they now have the tools to pursue careers in the food industry. FCSO Major David Ward also expressed his pride in the graduates, congratulating them on successfully completing the six-week course and passing the comprehensive exam.
The Forrest County Sheriff’s Office is committed to offering programs like ServSafe to help individuals build a better future after their release.
