This just in from Miss-Lou News:
UPDATE:
According to the Natchez Democrat, a medical helicopter landed in the middle of the U.S. highway 84 for the rescue of a Natchez fisherman in critical condition after he was trapped under a collapsed retaining wall.
Cartrell Harris was apparently fishing behind the Hotel Vue in Natchez when a concrete retaining wall collapsed, covering his legs. The Democrat reports that he fell roughly 10 feet when the wall caved in.
Natchez Police and Fire Department, AMR, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, and a search and rescue team responded. Vidalia Police were able to stop traffic on the bridge when the medical helicopter came to land on the highway, Police Chief Joe Daughtry told the newspaper.
