Authorities say a fire on Gary Drive in Byram killed one and injured six on Sunday.
Police Chief David Errington told reporters as responders conducted a search of the home, they found one person deceased. It took around three hours to knock down the fire.
Five of the victims were airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center and the other was taken to Baptist Hospital.
There are not a lot of details on the fire, nor have officials commented on what may have started it, but it is still under investigation. The victims’ names have not yet been released.
