A man was rushed to the hospital Sunday night after authorities say there was a dispute that led to a shooting.

Rankin County deputies and medical responders were called to Tyler Drive  just after 9:30 after a man had allegedly shot his stepson. On the scene, Lt. Justin Evans said the son was shot twice, and the stepfather was taken to the Rankin County Jail.

Witnesses said the dispute centered around the stepson’s child. The stepson, whose name has not been released, was allegedly able to talk on scene, but his current condition and status were not immediately available.
