DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department detectives in the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) division, assisting in a joint operation with other agencies including the Department of Homeland Security, arrested a man for Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, Jessie Edward Winters was sentenced to more than 17 years in prison.
Representatives from Homeland Security said that DeSoto County detectives helped with everything from collecting and storing evidence to extracting and providing crucial forensics evidence.
The facilities at the DCSD, along with the incredible ICAC detectives, played a critical role in the conviction of Mr. Winters, ensuring that he will no longer be a free man.
The Sheriff’s Department stated,
