The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has released the name of the suspect accused in a shooting that resulted in the death of Summit police officer Troy Floyd and the injury of two McComb officers.
According to the MBI, officers were conducting a police checkpoint when a passenger in a passing vehicle opened fire, killing the Summit officer. The two McComb officers engaged in a shootout with the suspect, who was shot and killed.
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety has identified the suspect as 25-year-old Usher Leonard.
Both McComb officers are expected to recover from their injuries.
