On April 4th, around 12:30 pm, Corinth police responded to a call regarding a wreck on Cemetery Street near Allen Street.
Officers immediately began receiving calls of gunfire at Cemetery Street and Meigg Street as well.
When police arrived, they found several shell casings, blood trails, and a wrecked vehicle.
Officers then received information that a gunshot victim from the wrecked vehicle was being transported to the hospital by a private vehicle.
Officers and Detectives processed the scene and developed information that Kalyn James McNeese was a person of interest.
McNeese was located and arrested at a Buchanan Street address within a few hours of the shooting incident. Detectives executed a search warrant at the above address and recovered controlled substances and 2 firearms.
The victim was released from the hospital within a couple of hours and sustained a gunshot wound to each arm.
McNeese was charged with Attempted Murder the following day.
This case will be presented to an Alcorn County Grand Jury.
