The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department has solved a cold case that has been open for 35 years.

According to Sheriff Greg Pollan, about ten months ago his office received new information about an unsolved cold case murder that occurred in Calhoun County in February 1989.

Chief Deputy Dean Poynor and Deputy Wayne Plunk have been leading the investigation for the past 10 months, Pollan said.

On Thursday, Glenda Armstrong, 55, of Bruce was charged with the murder of James “Hippie” Webster.

Sheriff Pollan said the homicide occurred just outside the city limits of Bruce at a “club” called Baldie’s. The building is no longer in existence.

We are working to find out more about this case and will update when we can.
