On July 16, at 2:32 p.m., Brandon police received a call from a distraught family who said they had a family member who stated they were going to “die by police officer”.
Officers arrived at the home and were able to stabilize the suspect. Joseph Joshua Richard turned himself into police without incident.
Thankfully, nobody was injured.
Brandon Police Chief Dearman thanked the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department for their help.
