First responders in George County have located the body of 17-year-old Jacob Mullen, who went missing underwater on Monday evening.
According to WLOX, the incident began when first responders received a call about an accidental drowning in the Pascagoula River, south of Highway 26.
Search efforts continued throughout the night and Tuesday as law enforcement and rescue teams scoured the area.
Officials with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks reported that Mullen’s body was found about a quarter mile from where he was last seen.
