A police officer was among several people shot on U.S. 90 in Biloxi Sunday as Spring Break travelers enjoyed the last day of a popular event. At this point it appears that all who were injured are stable, police said.

Authorities say at least four people were injured when the shots were fired during Black Spring Break in the area of Hwy. 90 near Surf Style. Biloxi police spokesperson Grandver Everett told the SunHerald’s Margaret Baker that authorities are still trying to gather information to make a better picture of exactly what happened.

A video posted to Facebook shows the officer who was shot surrounded by other officers helping him with what appears to be a shot in the arm.

Biloxi Police Chief John Miller say the fact that there is a very large crime scene made it important to do a thorough scene breakdown to gather any evidence that could exist. Miller said he couldn’t yet divulge if there are suspects identified in the shooting.

Police are asking citizens to call 228-392-0641 with any information related to the shootings.
