The Jackson Police Department, Hinds County Sheriff Office, and federal partners arrested five people in a drug bust Thursday.
The bust happened Wednesday at the Autumn Place Apartment in Jackson.
Police said they received numerous complaints about illegal guns and drugs before the bust.
“As I have said and stated many times that violent crime is a problem, but we are taking this violent crime on in our city to make our city safe, and these five individual have been taken off the street,” said Deputy Chief Deric Hearn, JPD.
Twenty-two-year-old Tavion Howard, 20-year-old William James Watson, 20-year-old Jayess White, 19-year-old Brandon Walker and 19-year-old Jordon Wilson were arrested.
Two vehicles were towed along with five handguns, one assault rifle, and 1.5 pounds of high-grade marijuana was seized.
Howard and Watson were out on bond when they were arrested.
This is an ongoing investigation.
