Tupelo police have filed charges in a late December string of catalytic converter thefts.
According to Tupelo Police Department, Jerry W. Smithy was arrested on charges of felony malicious mischeif after four catalytic converters were stolen just before the new year. The thefts were reported on Dec. 28 from businesses on North Eason Boulevard.
Police say a review of security camera footage led detectives to Smithy.
A Tupelo Municipal Court Judge set bond at $10,000 for the four counts.
