After a violent Tuesday in Canton, another teen is dead, shot overnight.
Police chief Otha Brown tells WLBT that Shamar Body, 17, is in critical condition after a shooting on Mace Street around 10:30 pm Tuesday.
Authorities say Body was found in a ditch. He had been shot once in the chest.
He was rushed to the hospital where he is now fighting for his life.
So far there are no leads on suspects.
Editor’s note: This has been edited to reflect that Body was not dead, but instead is fighting for his life. Chief Brown was initially told that Body had died. The family contacted him after it hit the media and told him Body is still in critical condition but had not yet passed.
